FUTA undergrads win Microsoft Imagine Cup Nigeria with their TREP startup

The Akure based startup TREP run by two Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Taofeek Afeez and Alayande Abiola has emerged as the this year’s national finalist of the Microsoft Imagine Cup Nigeria.

Microsoft Corporation came up with the annual Microsoft Imagine Cup Nigeria for undergraduates in the quest to help solve world challenges and in turn help bridge the unemployment gap in the country.

TREP is a hardware startup that is focused on bridging the gap of indigenous hardware solutions that can fit into existing and evolving infrastructures.

They came top with a  solution they provided targeting the medical field called called Real-Drip, which is a device that helps monitor the flow of intravenous fluid during intravenous treatment and notifies medical staff in real time.

TREP emerged the national finalist which made them qualified to move to the next stage which is at the regional level  on May 28th. 2018.
